The Cost Guide

What a 24/7 front desk
actually costs.

Four ways to cover your phone, with the real cost structure of each — including the costs that don't show up on the invoice. Our own prices are on this page, because a cost guide that hides its numbers isn't one.

If it doesn't cover your plan fee in the first 30 days, we refund that fee

Hire another receptionist

$38,010/yr median salary

U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, May 2024 — before payroll taxes, benefits, PTO coverage, and turnover

What it buys

One shift, five days — minus lunch, breaks, and time off

The cost that hides

Hiring time, training time, rehiring when they leave

Full comparison: vs. hiring

Answering service

Usually per-minute or per-call

the bill scales with your call volume — busy months cost more

What it buys

The phone gets picked up; you usually get a message, not a booking

The cost that hides

The callback work: every message still needs your staff to return it, reach the caller, and book

Full comparison: vs. answering services

DIY AI receptionist app

Low sticker — often under $100/mo

self-serve software; you run it

What it buys

An AI that answers — once you've configured, tested, and tuned it yourself

The cost that hides

Your hours: prompts, testing, monitoring calls, fixing odd behavior — ongoing, forever

Full comparison: vs. DIY AI tools

LunaFront — fully managed

$449–$1,197/mo flat + $299 one-time setup

every price on this page is public — see all three tiers below

What it buys

24/7 answering, intake, qualification, and booking — configured, tested, monitored, and tuned for you

The cost that hides

None — flat rate, month-to-month, no per-minute meters, no cancellation fees

The Other Side of the Ledger

The most expensive option is the phone nobody answers.

Every option on this page costs less than what missed calls quietly take: the after-hours caller who books elsewhere, the new patient who won't leave a voicemail, the busy-stretch call that never rings twice. Before comparing what coverage costs, it's worth knowing what the gap costs you.

Cost Questions

Asked before, answered here.

Because "request a quote" is a cost too — your time, a sales call, and a price that can move. Practice owners comparing options deserve the numbers upfront: $449, $697, or $1,197 a month, plus a one-time $299 setup. That's the entire price list.

Everything operational: configuration around your services and booking rules, testing before launch, 24/7 answering and booking, ongoing monitoring and tuning, and call summaries. It's a managed service — the price includes the people running it, not just the software.

No. The rate is flat — a busy month costs the same as a quiet one. There are no per-minute meters, no per-call fees, and no long-term contract; every plan is month-to-month.

It caps your downside: if LunaFront doesn't book enough in your first 30 days after go-live to cover your monthly plan fee, we refund that month's plan fee. The one-time $299 setup fee is not refundable, so that setup fee is the realistic worst case — the risk of proving the ROI sits with us.

If it doesn't cover its plan fee in 30 days, we refund that fee.
